DWB Delta Nature Mural Project
The DWB Delta Nature Mural Project supports the creation of public murals to promote appreciation of the natural and cultural heritage of the Delta. The first, “Notes from the Delta,” was created in Belzoni, MS in January, 2024 by artist Gavin Bird. This project was completed with support from DWB and a grant from the MS Delta National Heritage Area Partnership, with funding provided by the National Park Service.
“Delta Murmurations,” on the wall of the Jaketown Museum, was created in Belzoni, MS, in March, 2024 by artist Julia Reyes. This project is supported in part by funding from the Mississippi Arts Commission, a state agency, and in part, from the National Endowment for the Arts, a Federal Agency.
